Course Description
(1.5 quarter units)
Non-calculus based general physics course for earth and life science majors. Laboratory experiments/exercises, including data analysis on topics, including but not limited to: electricity, magnetism, light (optics) and nuclear physics.
The goal of this course is to make students aware of and be able to use methodology of conducting physical experiment, analyze and process the results and making sound conclusions. To achieve this goal students will learn the following skills
1. Based on the obtained theoretical knowledge, to correctly plan the experiment.
2. Learn to use different physical instruments.
3. Critically analyze the experiment results.
4. Develop a clear understanding of the scientific method and its appli8cation to the fundamental principles governing the physical universe.
