National University students have two ways to earn their NBCT certificate. National University offers an enhanced program that enables students to earn master's degree / certificate at the same time. In this program, students complete five courses in their area of specialization in addition to completing five Master of Arts in Teaching courses.
Students who already possess a master's degree have the option of just earning the NBCT certificate. This 10-course program, which takes just over a year to complete, fully prepares students to successfully complete the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards exam.
