San Diego Spectrum campus

We’re proud to be San Diego’s largest private nonprofit university, founded in 1971 by retired U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. David Chigos. Our mission is to provide accessible, achievable higher education to adult learners. Today, we educate students from across the U.S. and around the globe, with over 150,000 alumni worldwide.

Our four-week classes allow students to focus on one subject at a time — one month at a time — so you can finish your degree faster. Students can choose from associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, plus credentials and certificates. And of course, National University is accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

NU boasts six convenient campus locations around San Diego County, as well as classrooms on military bases, such as Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, and Camp Pendleton. Many of our campuses include state-of-the-art programs in a variety of fields, including nursing, engineering, and computing.
