SAN DIEGO and CARLSBAD, CALIF. – The National University Golf Academy, which offers innovative education programs that combine academics with golf at the high school, associate’s and bachelor’s levels, today announced that it will be hosting a series of free bi-monthly sport psychology labs for high school coaches and athletes at National University’s Spectrum and Carlsbad campuses beginning in February.
The labs are designed to introduce the mental skills necessary for elite athletic performance and to provide techniques to assist high school coaches and athletes in achieving their performance goals. Participants will learn valuable tools for athletic performance, including visualization, goal setting and team dynamics. The labs will offer lectures and practical exercises, as well as the opportunity to develop a performance project to assist athletic and coaching excellence.
The labs will be directed by Dr. Sarah Castillo, who worked extensively with over 15 intercollegiate, intramural and club athletic teams during her nine years as a sport psychology consultant at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
The labs will be offered twice per month, including one time each month at the University’s Spectrum and Carlsbad campuses. The first lab will take place on Saturday, February 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at National University’s Carlsbad campus. The second is Saturday, February 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at National’s Spectrum campus in Kearny Mesa.
