Dr. Eric Roe is the Dean of National University’s College of Business, Engineering, and Technology (COBET). Roe joined National University in 2021 and was made the Dean of National University’s School of Business and Economics in 2022, where he managed a portfolio of 37 academic programs from associate to doctoral level. In February 2024, the School of Business and Economics joined the School of Technology and Engineering in the new College of Business, Engineering, and Technology, with Roe appointed Dean. Roe was drawn to NU because of its willingness to innovate and its different learning modalities serving adult and working learners. A proven innovator himself, Roe’s visions are successfully executed because his systems thinking approach allows him to share and ground his vision in reality for effective transformation. Dr. Roe is an engineer and educator with a demonstrated history of creating high-performance / high-profile programs and collaborative partnerships. He makes professional and workforce education relevant for employers and the economy through systemic reforms that align competencies with talent development pathways. He has overseen approximately $30 million in grants including several National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Labor grant programs, many focused-on workplace competencies for STEM-aligned careers. He held leadership positions in manufacturing, research, technical services, and engineering before joining the education sector where he committed to making a positive difference for working adults. He earned his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of South Florida.
