Jennifer Du Bois, MSN-Ed, RN, is an Associate Faculty member of the School of Health Professions - Nursing, where she provides clinical instruction in Foundations of Nursing, Medical Surgical I, and Medical Surgical II. Jennifer emphasizes critical thinking, patient-centered care, and student well-being, with the goal of nurturing emotionally sound nurses who possess strong clinical judgment. With over ten years of experience working in the hospital and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Jennifer brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her teaching. She has been an educator for the past four years, dedicated to mentoring future nurses and enhancing their clinical competencies. In addition to teaching, Jennifer serves as the Chairperson of the Student Affairs Committee and is an advisor for the National University Student Nurses' Association. As a member of the Sharp Healthcare Frontline Impact Leadership committee, she played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the b-CAM assessment tool, improving the detection of acute delirium and facilitating timely clinical intervention. Her commitment to patient safety was further recognized when she served as a Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) Auditor, where she was a part of a team that received the Chula Vista Center of Recognized Excellence (C.O.R.E.) Award for achieving the greatest reduction in CAUTI occurrences in 2018, and maintaining a 100% reduction in 2019. Jennifer focuses on reducing medical errors and improving patient outcomes through focused and informed instruction. With her strong background in both healthcare and education, Jennifer is committed to preparing nursing students for the complexities of modern healthcare delivery.
