South Bay Teacher Residency Program at National University

In partnership with the South Bay Consortium, National University students have the opportunity to engage with high-quality mentorship in a classroom for an entire school year in one of three districts: Wiseburn, Lawndale, or Torrance, as well as earn a stipend alongside the option to serve as a paraeducator in their education specialist mentor’s classroom. This program provides aspiring teachers with affordable, high-quality coaching while they learn to plan and lead instructional activities while pursuing degrees through National University. Upon successful completion of residency, residents will be prioritized for hire teaching assignments within the participating districts.
